Old Down Cottage is a charming semi-detached cottage in a very rural setting, with magnificent views over open countryside.
Set in the wide open landscapes of east Dorset, Old Down Cottage is tucked down a private lane in a completely peaceful location. This semi-detached cottage has been lovingly furnished to create a welcoming, spacious home-from-home. The well planned accommodation is very flexible, and you can enjoy the peace and quiet in the enclosed front garden or on the decking at the back.

The Perfect Location
On the edge of the Cranborne Chase, it is an ideal base for walking, cycling, golfing holidays or trips to the seaside. Whether enjoying a day by the sea, or the pleasures of the open countryside – by foot or bicycle – Old Down Cottage is the perfect location.
This is an excellent base for exploring rural and coastal Dorset. The Cranborne Chase (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) is on the doorstep, and the beaches of the Jurassic Coast an easy drive away. Poole harbour with beaches and watersports, the National Trust’s Brownsea Island and the ferry across to Studland and Swanage are great outings from this location.
From Old Down Cottage the New Forest is just across the border in Hampshire – another excellent family outing. Wimborne, with its historic minster, is the nearest market town, and beyond is Bulbarrow Hill, the highest point in Dorset and a beautiful picnic spot with panoramic views. Walk in the footsteps of your Neolithic ancestors at Stonehenge, a short drive away.
